Switch to shutters as a window dressing
Spring sunshine can sometimes be quite dazzling and it’s easier to shut some of it out if you have window shutters rather than traditional blinds or curtains.
This will also help with ventilation, reflecting the sun away, and shutters are advantageous for privacy so that you don’t feel as though you have people peering into your space.
The visual impact of window shutters will be huge internally and externally, and there are shutter styles for traditional and modern properties.
Have a porch built
You can start getting outside again a bit more in spring, but beware of those April showers. If they strike and your footwear gets all muddy, a porch would be a handy place to put them when you return home.
Aside from the practicality of a porch, it will also give your entrance an extra bit of oomph and could well add value to your house.
