How To Organise Your Conservatory Or Orangery For Summer
The weather has been up and down over the past week, from us experiencing the two hottest days of the year to several of the wettest.
Take this as a warning that you cannot rely on the British summer, but you knew that already! It won’t anger you quite as much when it’s pouring down outside if you have a conservatory or orangery that’s fully summer-ready and offers a lovely indoor setting, one that’s just as good as your outdoor setting.
Does it feel too hot in your extension when temperatures are warm? Your roof will largely be at fault for that and should be replaced with a solid tiled roof. It might be a good idea to change the windows and doors though if they’re not energy efficient.
If you are affected by glare from the sun when in the extension, you could always fit blinds for the windows. Venetian Blinds, roller blinds or pleated blinds are your best blind options.
Whoever prepares your blinds, they should ensure they are made-to-measure so that they fully cover the windows when drawn shut. The blinds should also retain heat in winter.
Do you have a section in the extension perfect for the integration of French, patio or bi-folding doors? If so, use it. Then you will be able to ventilate the space and create a garden passage.
You can also get some of the feel of your garden in your extension with the addition of plants.
