How To Ensure Your Front Door Is More Than Insta-Worthy

How To Create An Insta-Worthy Front Door

When visiting any home, there’s no greater sight than an attractive front door. A smart entrance sets the tone for the rest of a property and gives you good vibes about a place.

If you want to see a few examples of some absolutely stunning front doors that people have really gone to the effort of dressing up and decorating, just log into your Instagram account. Then enter the hashtags #frontdoor and #frontdoors.

They will show you the kind of lengths you need to go to with your own front door if you want to make it similarly as Insta-worthy and impress house guests.

We can also offer advice on achieving that:

Coloured finish

It’s the colour of your door that will captivate the most, or at least it should, so consider all potential colour options when buying a new door or repainting an old door.

A high percentage of front doors in this country are finished in a white, black or grey, but you do see a significant number of other coloured doors, such as Chartwell Green, Duck Egg Blue and Aubergine-coloured entrances.

It’s not unusual to come across a pink front door, but we would urge caution with that sort of colour.

Door wreath

When looking through the many front doors on Instagram, you will see that a lot of them include a door wreath, proving that a wreath isn’t just a Christmas novelty.

Some of these wreaths will have been homemade, which is something you could try doing yourself. There are plenty of YouTube videos you can refer to for help with making one.

Whether you attempt this or just buy one, a summer wreath will typically include summer colours, like red, pink and orange.

Plants

Outside of your front door, to emphasise it further, you should install some planters – a very popular trend.

There are many forms of planter you could use, but people tend to choose twin potted bay trees, and it’s a great choice as they do increase the elegance of a front door.

Twin potted bay trees are not too high-maintenance, and just need the occasional watering and pruning to keep them in good shape.
