How To Create A More Spacious Home

Space in the home is a precious commodity and no doubt makes home living more enjoyable. It can be hard to come by though if you have a growing family and collectively continue to acquire more and more belongings.

Restoring spaciousness may seem like a thankless task if the house itself is naturally small, but it’s far from impossible.

You need to be clever and take the following courses of action:

1. Integrate a Lean-To conservatory

The sleekness of the Lean-To design means that it can be assimilated into small homes that have a low-pitched roof and bungalows. Despite its compact size, it still provides a generous amount of floor space that you can turn to when looking for somewhere additional to eat or lounge with the family or friends.

2. Have a thorough tidy-up

No-one likes having to tidy up but it’s a necessary evil. To make it easier and quicker get the entire household involved in throwing away anything that’s no longer required. This could include old clothes that you no longer wear, books that you have already read, and chucking out any general waste. Your home will feel totally rejuvenated and significantly larger.

3. Entice the sun indoors

Draw the curtains open first thing as far as they will go so that the sun has a clear pathway into your living quarters throughout daytime hours. If there are any trees or shrubbery blocking the sun off then cut them back and encourage it to illuminate your interior. The brighter your home, the bigger it feels.

4. Convert the loft

Your home can grow upwardly if you have any unused loft space that could be converted into an extra bedroom or somewhere else you can watch TV. It has its merits in other ways too as it could increase the value of your home, just like adding a conservatory does.
