Any salesperson in our company that you deal with will treat you fairly and work in your interests so that you get what you want at its rightful price.
Sadly, there are some businesses and one-man-bands trading in this industry who aren’t so even-handed and we don’t want you to get caught out by them.
That’s why we want to alert you to some of the underhand sales tactics they may resort to in an attempt to dupe you into buying.
Price conditioning
It’s difficult to know how much you might have to pay for new windows and doors if you’ve never bought any before.
A salesperson could try and capitalise on that and do what we call ‘price conditioning’, providing a quote and saying it’s the lowest you will receive anywhere, which simply won’t be true.
Fake discount
Always get a minimum of three quotes from three separate companies to work out the best deal.
Don’t fall into the trap of accepting the first quote you get or agreeing to a so-called ‘take it or leave it’ discount that’s specifically designed to stop you shopping around and nowhere close to the bargain you’re told it is.
Big price drop
This is a real shock tactic and involves a salesperson quoting a ridiculously high price for new windows and doors.
It’s done to cause a reaction and make you think you’re getting a fantastic price when the salesperson then dramatically reduces the cost of the original quote. This ‘new’ price will still unlikely be a fair deal.
Overcharging
You may be asked straight up what you are willing to pay for new windows and doors so that the salesperson can get a figure out of you.
Using this figure, they could try their luck and have a go at overcharging you, particularly if you state a price that’s unknowingly above the cost you should expect to pay.
These kinds of salespeople don’t exist at Crystal Clear- they’re all on your side! Make an appointment to speak to one of them and let’s get you the price you deserve.
